Last Meals: Execution Records | 2026 Wall Calendar | True Crime Art Calendar

Last Meals: Execution Records documents twelve executions from modern American history—one for each month of the year. Each month features a single image depicting the final meal as documented in official records. When multiple accounts exist, the image reflects the most widely accepted version. When no final meal was requested and a standard prison meal was served, the image reflects commonly reported prison menus. The accompanying notation is intentionally selective. Each entry includes, where available: • The individual’s name (and known nickname or moniker) • Method of execution • Location of execution Beyond these constants, each page offers only a fragment—a disputed detail, a procedural irregularity, or a moment that made the execution historically notable. This calendar is not meant to be read like a book. It is designed to be experienced one page at a time, over thirty days, to prompt reflection and independent research. Records vary. Accounts conflict. Some details were never preserved, and no single format applies uniformly to every case. Important note: Final meal information is drawn from official execution records, contemporaneous reporting, and widely cited secondary sources. In some cases, details are disputed, incomplete, or unavailable. This calendar does not claim completeness or certainty beyond the available historical record.
